Have you heard of The Australian Trusted Trader Scheme? Below we wish to remind you of the program, along with some of the benefits it can provide to your business.

The Australian Trusted Trader Scheme is a partnership between the Australian Border Force, the Department of Home Affairs and legitimate importers / exporters. It can be of great benefit in streamlining the flow of cargo into and out of Australia for approved companies.

Accredited Australian Trusted Traders are provided with multiple benefits once they have demonstrated best practice compliance standards and security, throughout their entire supply chain.
The scheme is available free to holders of an ABN that are financially solvent and have been active in the international supply chain for a minimum of 2 years.
Australian Trusted Trader benefits include:

-Dedicated Account Manager within the Australian Border Force

-Priority Processing of applications through the National Advice Centre

-Priority Treatment of goods at the border

-Access to monthly data reports

-Simplified Temporary Skill Shortage Visa Process

-Easier access to APEC Business travel card

-Consolidated Cargo Clearance – a single import declaration for multiple suppliers shipped on one bill of lading or Air Waybill

-Cash flow benefits in the form of Duty Deferral for Trusted Traders who are approved for GST deferral already.

-Admin benefits in the form of Origin Waiver – no Certificate of Origin’s being required for consignments imported under ten specific free trade agreements.
