Dear Clients, ANOTHER INCREASE: EMPTY CONTAINER PARKS - APR-26 We have seen over the last week or so a swath of notifications from the Empty Container Parks advising that due to rising fuel prices, they are increasing their fees to the industry. Most increases are being attributed to the sharp and rapid rise in fuel prices. Disappointingly though, wording from the Empty Containers Parks notification is that they are adding this fee to existing access / booking charge line's, which suggests (we hope not), that the additional charge will stay in place even when fuel returns to normal. We strongly encourage you to take this matter up with your industry bodies (like we have) as it's another unnecessary price hike being passed down the supply chain. Effective 6th April, Empty Container Parks charge will increase $30 per container. If you are billed as an all-in cartage rate, the cartage line on your invoice will increase by $30 If you are billed showing the VBS/Empty Container Park fee separately, then this line will increase by $30. This charge is applicable for both import and export FCL movements.
