Dear Clients,

OPERATIONAL UPDATE || WEATHER EVENT – SYD – JUL-25
Update 1 (02/07/25)

Sydney continues to experience a severe weather event which is impacting port operations at Port Botany due to heavy rain, damaging winds and large swells.
  • Vessel Movement Suspensions:
    SUSPENDED - Vessel movement within the Port is still restricted.

  • Terminals:
    • Patrick:
      Imports/Exports: CLOSED - until further notice.
    • DP World:
      Imports/Exports: SUSPENDED - No vessels are being worked. Some slots for container collections have been cancelled.
    • Hutchison Ports:
      Imports/Exports: PARTIALLY OPERATIONAL - Parts of the terminal are still closed.

  • Empty Container Park Closures:
    Several empty container parks across the port precinct have already ceased operations due to safety concerns.

  • Sydney Airport:
    OPERATIONAL but with flight delays and cancellations.
Should this weather event continue, there is a very high likelihood that vessel schedules right across the eastern states will be impacted, potentially taking weeks to recover.

We will provide updates as they come to hand.
