OPERATIONAL UPDATE || WEATHER EVENT – SYD – JUL-25

Sydney is experiencing a severe weather event which is impacting port operations at Port Botany due to heavy rain and damaging winds.
  • Vessel Movement Suspensions:
    SUSPENDED - Some vessel movements in and out of Port Botany have been suspended until further notice.

  • Terminals:
    • Patrick:
      Imports/Exports: OPERATIONAL - Patrick have confirmed they remain fully operational.
    • DP World:
      Imports/Exports: OPERATIONAL - DP World have confirmed they remain fully operational.
    • Hutchison Ports:
      Imports/Exports: SUSPENDED - Hutchison Ports have released the following notice:
      We remain closed, A notice will be placed 30 minutes prior to the re-commencement of the next working zone.

  • Empty Container Park Closures:
    Several empty container parks across the port precinct have already ceased operations due to safety concerns.

  • Sydney Airport:
    OPERATIONAL
Should this weather event continue, there is a very high likelihood that vessel schedules right across the eastern states will be impacted, potentially taking weeks to recover.
