The Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) Season is
almost upon us again and the only major
change from last season is the addition of
Poland to the list of target risk countries.
The full list of target risk countries for the
upcoming season are:
risk goods shipped from the above countries between
1st September 2021 and 30th
April 2022 will require treatment for BMSB.
The treatment providers list has been
updated for the current season and is available
via the link below. Please note any providers
who were approved last year
Please also be aware that the Department of
Agriculture, Water and the Environment has
indicated that the following countries
have been identified as emerging risk countries
and are subject to
Belarus, Malta, Sweden, United Kingdom, and Chile. This does not mean target goods from these countries will require treatment prior to shipment to Australia, however goods shipped from these countries will be subject to increased Quarantine
inspections on arrival. These increased inspections will be carried out at the importers expense.
